Spidey Tats Story
Behind the mask:

The Spider Bite
Hey there, web-heads!
I’m Spidey Tats, your friendly neighborhood tattoo artist. My journey into the world of tattooing and art is a little different from most—I didn’t grow up drawing or painting, and I never imagined I’d make a career out of creating art. In fact, I spent six years in the Air Force working in the dental field, a path that was about as far from tattooing as you could get. But life has a funny way of steering you toward your true passion.
Growing up, I was always drawn to things that required skill, discipline, and creativity. Whether it was sports or other challenges, I thrived on pushing myself to improve. That same mindset carried over into my journey as an artist. Sports taught me to show up when it’s go time, to get my game face on, and to step up in the clutch. That’s how I approach tattooing—when a client sits down, it’s not just about putting ink on skin; it’s about giving them a piece of art that resonates with them and makes them feel their best.
After leaving the military, I found myself drawn—literally—into the world of tattooing. What started as an interest in getting inked turned into a deep love for the craft. I dedicated myself to learning everything I could, pushing past the doubts that came with having no formal art background. It was a process of transformation, much like Peter Parker’s spider bite—it was my moment of evolution. Thanks to my mentors, Meme Tats and Tattoos by Brewer, who shared their knowledge and unlocked this ability in me, I was able to develop the skills needed to turn my passion into my profession.
Much like Peter Parker had Uncle Ben and Aunt May guiding him, I had my mentors. They not only shaped my technique but helped me realize the responsibility behind the art. They taught me that with great power comes great responsibility—and that lesson has stuck with me. It’s not just about creating something that looks good, it’s about creating something that tells your story, something that carries meaning.
Now, I’m proud to be regularly working at Reinkarnate Tattoo in Mesa, Arizona. Joining the shop was like a rebirth for me—much like the concept of reincarnation, it marked the moment when I truly came alive as an artist. Whether it’s tattooing, photography, or custom artwork on canvases, I bring that same dedication to every piece I create. My goal is to craft art that speaks to you, tells your story, and becomes a part of who you are—just like my tattoos have done for me.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work. If you’re ready to bring your vision to life, let’s make it happen.
